Terms and conditions
These terms and conditions apply to all courses and appointments made and provided by Birth in Holland. All products associated with Birth in Holland fall under de definition “the course”.
Definitions
Course provider: a professional that gives the courses associated with Birth in Holland.
Course participant: Any person and or partner that has signed up for any of the courses provided by Birth in Holland.
The course
The course is given by a trained professional from Birth in Holland. The childbirth course will consist of a group with a minimum of six and a maximum of ten couples. The first aid course consists of a minimum of six and a maximum of twelve participants. The length per course is stated on the website. The dates of the courses are scheduled and published on the website at least one month in advance. The dates can be changed up to one month before the course by the Birth in Holland team and thereafter due to exceptional circumstances.
Registration
Registrations are processed through the Birth in Holland website. You will receive a conformation within 48 hours. If you do not receive a conformation within this time it is advisable to send us an email so we can check that everything has gone through correctly. If the registration is not complete it will not be processed. When there are enough participants to join the course the registration will be finalized and you will be informed that the course will go ahead. The registration itself does not guarantee that the course will be held.
Rate
The price of the course differs per course. The website specifies the prices of the different products we offer. Prices are subject to change.
Payment
The payment method is stated on the website when booking and is subject to change. The course participant can submit the invoice to the health insurance company to apply for compensation. It is the responsibility of the course participant to see if the insurance will cover the costs of the course. We cannot guarantee that the health insurance company will compensate all or part of the course.
Cancellation by the course participant
If you are unable to attend the course for any reason please let the course provider know as soon as possible. This can be done by email or by phone. Cancellation by the course participant does not give the right to follow the course at a different date or time.
Refund policy courses
Cancellation up to 4 weeks before the course starts: the cost of the live course, excluding the price of the online materials and administration costs, will be refunded to the course participant. Cancellation between four and two weeks before the course: 50% of the live course cost, excluding administration costs, will be refunded to the course participant. Cancellation from 14 days before the course: the total cost of the course will be charged. In all scenarios you keep the lifetime access to our extensive digital materials.
Cancellation by Birth in Holland
Birth in Holland and the course provider reserve the right to cancel any course due to unforeseen circumstances. Any money that has been paid, including administration costs will be refunded to the course participant. The course provider will try to reschedule the course or appoint a different course date to you if possible.
Cancellation by the client
If you are unable to attend a massage treatment for any reason please provide us with a minimum of 24 hours to rearrange or cancel your appointment. Cancellation will incur an administration fee. All cancellation and rescheduling needs to be communicated via telephone with our massage therapist, Laura Krulder. 06 27116796
Refund policy massage treatments
Cancellation with more than 24 hours notice will be refunded minus the administration fee. No shows will receive no refund.
Intellectual property
For the purpose of this agreement the material means any material provided by Birth in Holland or published on the website including, without limitation, all text, images, and graphics of any nature whatsoever. It is forbidden to reproduce or distribute any material that is the intellectual property of Birth in Holland. All material provided is for personal use only. Birth in Holland reserves all intellectual property rights to the materials used and distributed under Birth in Holland.
Liability
It is the responsibility of the course participant to decide if they are capable of following the course.
Students
Occasionally there may be a student present who will observe (part of) the course or a trainee instructor who may give (part of) the course under the supervision of a qualified instructor.

Personal data that we process
Birth in Holland will process your data because you are using our services and/or because you are providing us with your data. We are processing the following data:

Special and/or sensitive personal data that we process
Birth in Holland does not require or processes the following personal data:
- Race
- Religion and or personal beliefs
- Sexual life
- Health
To which end, and based on what grounds, do we process your personal data
Birth in Holland processes your personal data with the following purposes:
- Processing your payment.
- In order to call or email you when needed in order to provide our services.
- For exposure (with permission) for social media marketing.
- Birth in Holland also processes personal data when we are legally bound to do so, such as using data for our tax returns and bookkeeping system.
- We may use your information to inform you about other services offered by us.
Automated decision-making process
Birth in Holland does not take decisions based on automated processes about things that can have (considerable) consequences for people. This relates to decisions made by computer programs or systems, without my personal interference.
How long we keep hold of personal data
Birth in Holland does not keep your personal records any longer then is strictly required to attain the purpose the data was collected for. We keep the following storage period to each category of personal data:
- Sensitive data: these records will be(a) removed from the website database monthly (b)removed from the rest of my system at the end of the third calendar year after the birth of the baby or postpartum doula care.
This includes data on:
- Race
- Religion and or personal beliefs
- Sexual life
- Health
Personal data (part 1): this data will be deleted at the end of the calendar year.
This includes data on:
- Last name,
- Gender
- Date of birth
- Address records
- Telephone number
- Bank account number
- Other data that you actively provide us with in correspondence with us, over the phone or by filling in a contact form on this website
Personal data (part 2): these records will be kept for a maximum of 7 years and will be used by Birth in Holland internally as basic information for company statistics. Appropriate organizational and technical means will be used, such as password restriction on applications. The data can also be used for external publications, but only with written permission or after anonymization.
This includes records on:
- Parents first names
- Baby’s first name
- Baby’s gender
- Baby’s date of birth
- E-mail address
Sharing personal data with third parties
Birth in Holland does not sell your personal data to third parties.
Cookies, or compatible techniques, that we use
Birth in Holland only uses technical, functional and non-(privacy) invasive analytical cookies. A cookie is a small text file that will be stored on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you first visit our website. The cookies we use are necessary for the technical functions of our website and for your convenience. They make sure the website works properly and keeps track of your website preference. This also allows us to optimize the website. You can switch off this function by setting a non-cookie storage preference on your internet browser. Besides that you can also delete all information that was placed earlier through the settings of your browser.
Access, adapting or removing personal data
You have a right to view, correct or remove personal data. You are also entitled to withdraw your permission for us to process your data or to object to Birth in Holland processing your data. You are also entitled to object to data transfers. To do so you can file a request to us to sent our computer files to you, or a person or organization you choose.
You can file a request for accessing, correcting or removing, transferring your data or withdraw of your permission to process personal data to info@birthinholland.com
To be certain this request is done by you we ask to sent a copy of your id along with the request. Do however, to protect your privacy, make your photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, with number at the bottom of the passport) passport number and citizen service number black. We will respond as promptly as we can, but certainly within eight weeks, to your request.

How we protect personal data
Birth in Holland takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent abuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted publicity and unauthorized changes, therefore the data on Birth in Holland’s hard drive is protected by placing them in an application that requires an additional password.
